Beauty of Ceramic Tiles

Wide variety of colors, decorations and visual effects
The high level of technology used in the production of ceramic tiles is able to produce any type of color or design, satisfying the many different aesthetic requirements. Thanks to the use of proper glazes, it is possible to produce the most suitable color, decoration or chromatic texture for any specific environment. The tiles without this covering are associated with the tile body, and therefore have a more limited color range. This does not, however, always constitute a limit; just think of "Terracotta tiles (or Cotto)", which is much sought after for its characteristic color.

Decoration is also associated with the presence of glazes, which make any type of ornament possible thanks to advances made in techniques. Porcelain stoneware is the only unglazed tile, which allows for interesting visual effects. The silk-screen process, decorative inserts and satin-finished motifs are just some of the possibilities available today. The variety of sizes is equally vast. As the size changes, so does the density of the structure of the joints between the tiles. Changing the nature of the joints, going from an arrangement of continuous joints to displaced joints for example, may produce results with very different visual impacts.

The most common shapes are rectangular, but polygonal shapes or others with a complex shapes are also available. Sizes vary from sides of only a few centimeters, to slabs with sides measuring one meter.
