Installation Instruction for your "GLUE-LESS" Cork Tile Flooring
Before you start:
- Make sure the sub-floor is clean, dry, smooth and firm.
- We recommend installation of plastic sheet as moisture barrier under cork tiles.
- Adjust door frames and doors to provide clearance above the new floor.
- Use 1/4" thick spacers against the wall. The spacers cam be removed after installation of the floor. Lay the first row of tiles with "top, short" tongue adjacent to the wall.
- Hold your fingers under the tile, lift and push "butt" ends together. Use your tapping board to close gap (if necessary). Make sure that the tile edges are lining up accurately.
- Joints to be staggered at least 300mm (approximately 1'-0").
- Tiles in the second row and subsequent rows are to be fitted by first, placing the "butt" side against the previous tile. Then push together the long side with fingers under the tile.
- After fitting the entire row, use your tapping block to knock and close any remaining gaps between tiles.
- Tap together the end (last) tile with the aid of the "last board" puller. Remove all spacers. Install you baseboards.
ENJOY YOUR NEW CORK FLOOR
